Kenyans Condemn Babu Owino's Reckless Remark While Donating Flour

Angry Kenyans pounced on Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, following a reckless remark he posted on his social media account alongside a video of him donating flour.

The lawmaker had an eventful day in his constituency where he was giving his supporters the basic need and judging by the video, people turned up in large numbers.

What, however, angered Kenyans was his choice of words while sharing the good deed on social media.

"Distributing flour to my constituents. The way to a man’s heart is through the stomach," posted the legislator.

Unimpressed Kenyans took issue with the move and slammed him for encouraging laziness instead of teaching his supporters how to make their own income.

"Is this is where Kenya has reached? The Kenyan youths' uncritical thinking and inaction are ruining the chances of creating a decent society. We are on the brink of extinction," posted Eliud Rabello.

"Babu, find a long term solution to the problem. It’s very good you’re helping them now but you can’t be doing that way all the time. You’re clever, you can find a lasting solution," posted Ben Arama.

"Instead of giving people free food, why don't they employ them so that they can feed themselves," posted another Facebook user.

Others adviced the leader to emulate the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth as he was meticulous in uplifting his constituents.

"You need some advice? I'll give it for free. Here goes; do as Ken Okoth (RIP) did in Kibera...even if you copy-paste, you won't fail!" Posted another user.
