Moses Kuria Wins in Case of Incitement Against Raila

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, emerged victorious, on Friday, after the High Court threw out a case filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji.

In the case, the controversial leader was accused of inciting against a certain community and uttering abusive words towards former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kuria celebrated the win revealing that it was the third time he was being acquitted.

"The case was during the repeat elections. The magistrate found that they could not prove the case. The case has been there since 2014. It is my third case to be acquitted. I have one more for 2015," the legislator stated.

In 2014, the lawmaker was accused of posting hateful and inciting messages on his Facebook page.

An alarm of the posts was first raised by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission stepped in and recommended for prosecution.

Kuria, however, declined the accusations and was released on bond.

In 2017, the MP is accused of making other abusive statements that were intended to cause physical injury to a person.

He made the remarks at Wangige market in Kiambu county.

"Kiambu has spoken. They have said Wembe ni ule ule (the razor blade is the same one). Wangige and Kiambu people are seething with anger. One million of their votes were cancelled by four people,"read a post from his page at the time.
