Remark by Laboso's In-Law That Has Angered Kenyans [VIDEO]

A comment made by a brother to the late Joyce Laboso's husband, Edwin Abonyo, during her funeral service has elicited mixed reactions from netizens.

While speaking during her requiem mass at Fort Ternan in Kisumu County, the brother-in-law suggested that Abonyo should get another wife from the the deceased governor's family.

Interestingly, he switched to his vernacular language when he was making the remarks.

"Edwin, Sotik people really love you. Can't you see? I have one request though, you should continue loving them so that they can reciprocate.

"I don't know but the house where your wife came from has many beautiful ladies. Is it possible to marry an in-law? Because you can't stay alone," he stated.

However, his sentiments did not sit well with many social media users who claimed that he had no respect for the dead.

Here are the reactions:

Koko Mueni wrote, "Let Obonyo mourn his wife. If he wants to marry, he will do it. Let him decide for himself."

Joshua Nderitu commented, "It's insane and sad how once you are gone, you are replaced almost immediately."

Margaret Amisi wrote, "This are the kind of people who rush widowers into marriages that break later.

Nanoit Alexas wrote, "Oh wow he should not have spoken. Was he intoxicated? Very different from Edwin's eloquent speech yesterday."

Jane Awino commented, "You have no respect to the late governor at all yet your are her husband's elder brother. I'm shocked."
