Watch 6-year-old Beauty Queen's Emotional Plea to Governor Sonko

The video of a 6-year-old girl pleading to Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, to help her realise her lofty ambitions has emerged.

Identifying herself as Shammah Lindsey, she goes on to give a harrowing tale of how she suffered depression while she was only 3 years old.

This resulted from growing up in a household where domestic violence was the order of the day.

She confessed to having been greatly traumatised by the ordeal, before she finally found an outlet to help her get through the trying times.

Shammah embraced the art of painting and modelling not only as a way to heal past wounds, but aid other children facing the same issues to rise above the trauma.

The confident young girl asked Sonko to help her realise her dream of representing Kenya at the Little Miss World contest in Tenerife Islands, Spain.

A total of Ksh 285,000 is what she needs to make the trip scheduled for October, and she let the governor know that she was sure she'd be bringing the crown home.

Coincidentally, the current Little Miss World, Tyra Angel Odeny, also hails from Kenya.

The 12-year-old was crowned the Little Miss World 2018 Grand Prix winner at the 18th International Children’s Festival of Culture, Fashion and Arts held in Thessalonika, Greece.

She was among 47 participants from 20 countries who participated in the international festival held between September 24 and 30, 2018.

Here's the video of Shammah's heartfelt message to Governor Sonko:
