Sonko Causes Stir in Nakuru Hotel

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, was at the centre of a dramatic incident that occurred at a popular hotel in Nakuru on Sunday morning.

Local staff and other guest were stunned after the governor ordered that the chef and hotel manager taste his food, before he could go on to enjoy his breakfast.

“The hotel chef and manager had to take two mouthfuls in front of him before to confirm the food was safe,” an eyewitness disclosed to the Standard.

Reports further stated that both the manager and chef were left in shock, adding that they felt embarrassed by the turn of events.

Sonko had earlier brought business at the 4-star hotel, after he checked in with a huge entourage.

His motorcade was reportedly very similar to the President's,  led by a Mercedes Benz chase car with county government number plates.

"A stopover in Nakuru town advocating matters Wanjiku and the Big Four Agenda. We as leaders must always address issues affecting the common mwananchi. Doing so is taking development to the doorsteps of Adhiambo, Wanjiku, Nzioka, Wafula and the less fortunate in the society," Sonko tweeted.

The governor went on to disclose that he had travelled to Nakuru to attend this year's National Music Festivals.

"At Nakuru for this year’s National Music Festivals. Nairobi region are the defending champions. As the Good Deeds ambassador and the Governor of the great city I’ll surprise schools from Nairobi who are participating in this year’s music festivals if they emerge winners," he disclosed.
