Larry Madowo's Post Attracts Americans' Wrath

BBC Africa business correspondent, Larry Madowo, has attracted the wrath of Americans after he tweeted about the two mass shooting that happened over the weekend.

Larry landed in Newyork on Monday for his fellowship with the Columbia University’s School of Journalism.

He took to Twitter to state he went to sleep with news of the El- Passo, Texas shooting that left 20 people dead and woke up to the news of the Dayton, Ohio shooting that cost 6 people their lives.

In addition, he revealed that this was just his first weekend in the states.

I went to sleep on news of a mass shooting in El Paso. I woke up to the news of a mass shooting in Dayton. This is only my first weekend living in these United States,” Larry tweeted.

Most Americans did not take kindly his sentiments with most of them telling if he felt unsafe he should just leave and go back to where he had come from.

“You are a newcomer to America and you publicly say that the country is not safe despite the hell hole you are from. Get lost moron! Go home!” retorted John Seibert who ironically has his twitter handle as @freedom411.

Seibert further told Larry that if he felt unsafe he was free to leave.

Despite all the negative comments Larry sarcastic and took a screenshot of the responses and responded by sating that he felt welcome in the USA.

I have received a warm welcome, evidently,” Larry responded.

Kenyans were quick to ‘issue travel advisories’ to the US and asked Larry to return home until the country was declared safe to visit.
