10-Man Gang Rampage Through City in Night of Terror [VIDEO]

Police officers on Monday confirmed the arrest of three suspects believed to be part of a gang that terrorised residents of Mombasa’s Kisauni area on Monday night.

Kisauni police boss Julius Kiragu noted that the three were arrested on suspicion of having been involved in the skirmishes.

The 10-man gang roamed through the streets of hacking everyone and anyone on sight using the machetes they were carrying.

The members of the outlawed 'Wakali Kwanza' gang were said to be indiscriminately swinging their machetes leaving 13 nursing injuries.

County Police Commander Johnston Ipara while confirming the incident revealed that four out of the 13 were in critical condition.

Those injured received treatment at Yeshua Clinic before being transferred to Coast General Hospital.

The machete-wielding gang had terrorised residents of Kwa Bulo, Bamburi Mwisho, Bombolulu and Kisimani.

"Several gunshots were heard. Police then went after the youth who managed to escape after stealing from several stalls," Mary Odhiambo, a resident, divulged.

"People are running into their homes. There is tension. Police are all over," another resident, only identified as Katana, noted.

In the video, the residents were seen scampering for safety as police tried to go after the gang.
