A school bus belonging to Kapchebau Girls was on Tuesday involved in a horrific road accident.
The bus is said to have been involved in the accident along Maron-Sambalat road in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
In pictures seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the bus seemed to have rolled into what looked like a ditch.
The yellow school bus was also utterly destroyed, with the windows broken and the body sandwiched and reduced to bare metal.
By the time of publishing, it was yet to be established whether there were casualties.
On October 20, 2018, the bus was presented to the school by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, in a colourful ceremony.
The Senate leader of majority took to his social media to share pictures of the ceremony.
"Yesterday I joined Hon Kangogo, MCAs and other local leaders in the presentation of School buses for Kaptich Girls in Kapyego Ward and Kapchebau Girls in Embobut Ward.
"The buses were wholly funded by the Marakwet East’s National Government Constituency Development Fund," he posted.
A huge crowd, mostly residents and area leaders, came out to witness Murkomen present the bus that was decorated with ribbons and flowers.
