Jubilee Governor Exposes How Politicians Spend Stolen Dam Money

A governor allied to Jubilee Party, who has seemingly had enough of scandal drama, exposed how some Rift Valley politicians he accuses of embezzling Arror and Kimwarer dams money are spending it.

Speaking in Keiyo South on Saturday, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor, Alex Tolgos, dished that a majority of the missing funds was being used to bankroll Rift Valley politics.

He went on to add that some of the leaders even bragged about how they intend to use the money to vie for better political seats in the upcoming 2022 elections.

Some of the suspects, he claims, used the funds to undermine him in the region.

“I can assure them that we will not have seats for suspects in the Arror and Kimwarer scandals. They have undermined what was to benefit our people and no one will elect them," he stated.

Various high-ranking government officials, including suspended Treasury CS, Henry Rotich, have since been arrested in connection with the scandal.

Rotich was arrested, charged and released alongside his PS Kamau Thugge and other senior managers from the Kerio Valley Development Authority.

Tolgos also took that opportunity to lash out at Senate's majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen accusing him of creating a rift between the county assembly and the executive.

He argued that it was the rift which is responsible to the current budgetary crisis in the county.

“They want to make it look like I am weak but I will stand with the people and won’t allow them to have their way," he remarked.
