Deputy President William Ruto's camp has suffered a setback after the exodus of Elgeyo-Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos was reported on Tuesday.
According to a report by Daily Nation, Tolgos walked out of the camp citing insults and arrogance from some of the politicians closest to the DP.
The paper further reported that the governor was headed to Baringo Senator Gideon Moi's team explaining that he liked the way they did things and that it was accommodating.
“I am neither in Tanga Tanga nor Kieleweke teams but I do not like the way members of the Tanga Tanga team are doing their things. It should be known that I will never be part of that team.
"I like the way Gideon Moi is doing his business. He does not insult anyone and will respect you for who you are. He is just like me,” he stated.
He further divulged that the insults-ridden team identified as Tanga Tanga would be the downfall of the DP if he does not change tact.
“If the DP is relying on Tanga Tanga to deliver him the presidency in 2022 I am sorry to say it might be difficult for that to happen. Those in that team are always insulting everyone, from Raila to Gideon and anyone else including me,” he continued.
The latest move by the governor further intensifies the wrangles experienced in the party especially between him and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen. The two have had a long-running personal battle.
Tolgos joins a racket of other leaders who have marched out of the camp claiming that some of Ruto's aide's failed to acknowledge their power and contributions to the party.
Last week, Uasin Gishu politician Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki, claiming that some of the camp's insiders frustrated him.
Other leaders who have since left the camp include Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei, MPs Sila Tiren of Moiben, Joshua Kutuny of Cherangany and Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills.
