Uhuru Meets His Favourite High School Teacher After 35 Years [PHOTOS]

President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Wednesday, got nostalgic after hosting his favourite high school teacher at State House.

In photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the president, who was in the company of his cousin Jeff Koinange and other guests, met the history teacher, Zelia Pareira, after 35 years.

Taking to social media, Koinange celebrated the teacher as one of the great influences in their lives who helped them become what they are today.

Pareira taught the two, who are leaders in their respective fields, History while they attended St Mary's School, Nairobi.

Uhuru has in the past admitted that history was his favourite subject.

"Guess who got to meet his former history teacher after more than 35 years? That's right, the president himself!

"We had a great time and a good laugh! Thanks, Ms Pereira for molding us to be who we are today!" expressed Koinange.

Uhuru loved the subject so much that Mwai Kibaki, who at that time was the vice president, had the honour of presenting an award to Uhuru for being the best ‘A’ level history student.

Kibaki had been invited as a guest of honour at the ceremony not knowing Uhuru was listed for the award.

The fourth president of Kenya loved the school so much that one day, he wrote a letter to his parents expressing his love.

"My dear mummy and daddy, I hope that you had a good trip down (Coast) and that you are having a nice holiday. Mrs trench is a good teacher. I like St Marys School very much and I am quite happy," Uhuru wrote.
