Waititu's Woman Rep Launches Bid to Render Him Jobless [VIDEO]

Kiambu Woman Representative, Gathoni wa Muchomba has made it clear that she is interested in going after Governor Ferdinand Waititu's job in 2022.

Gathoni was speaking on August 16, at an economic empowerment forum in Kikuyu Constituency, when she stated that she had much bigger dreams for the county.

Gathoni argued that she was able to achieve a lot with the little budget she had as the county MP and thus, she would do wonders if elected to manage the county purse.

"I'm allocated Ksh7 million per constituency and my projects speak for themselves in Karai, Limuru, Gatundu North and South, Thika and Laari. What if I'm put in charge of the billions allocated to Kiambu?" she posed to the crowd.

The woman rep went on to corrupt the late Joseph Kamaru's song, Gathoni, in a bid to endear herself to the residents.

"Gathoni, I'd love for you to be their governor," she led the crowd in song.

"I'll leave you to make the decision," she concluded.

In June, the two politicians clashed in the presence of First Lady Margaret Wanjiru during a tree planting activity in Kiambu.

During the exercise, Wa Muchomba took a swipe at Waititu. She stated that the first-term governor should be put to task to explain where county funds had disappeared to.

"I saw how you (Waititu) were cornered and this should continue until stolen public funds are returned.

"We have a problem and it is only fair that I speak out as a representative of the people.” Wa Muchomba asserted.

However, her remarks did not sit well with Waititu who claimed that she was out to settle a personal score.

“If you have any evidence against Baba Yao (Waititu), please take it to where it is needed.

"Stop bringing it up in churches, funerals and public events like this one graced by her Excellency the First Lady,” Waititu explained.
