Jeff Koinange's Guest Lands Itumbi in Trouble

Digital strategist and blogger Dennis Itumbi, on Wednesday night, found himself in hot water after he extended an offer to one of Jeff Koinange's guests, Bianca Wambui.

A teary Bianca, who is 13 years old, narrated on JKLive that since being diagnosed with breast cancer, she has faced stigma from her friends at school.

"I stopped going to school. I cannot attend classes because of my situation, as my friends say that I have one breast and they, therefore, cannot play with me and that I will infect them. I sit at home lonely and I would wish to get well so that I can resume my studies.

"Sometimes I ask God why this happened to me but I know I will be okay because he is on my side," she emotionally stated.

Moved by her bravery, Dennis Itumbi offered to add her as a beneficiary in his NHIF medical cover, so she can get the treatment that she desperately needs.

"Dear NHIF, Let us help Bianca Wambui get treated. I am offering my State House-maintained NHIF cover. Allow me to add Bianca as my dependant tomorrow morning and we can have this young girl treated. Fair enough, NHIF," proposed Itumbi.

Kenyans were, however, not impressed by his generous offer, especially because of the medium he chose to make his case on.

"You can do that privately instead of asking permission from NHIF through a tweet. Alternatively, you can call NHIF. Sounds like a show-off," argued Joel Mukoma.

Trying to act human to gain cheap fame, just like your Kimwarer boss. Bianca Wambui is just one case. Millions of Kenyans have similar or worse health nightmares. This PR should go towards fixing the system," added another Twitter user.

Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, also offered to pay Bianca's school fees after she told her story on Citizen TV.
