The father of a man who was allegedly run over and killed by media personality, Davis Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, has spoken for the first time since the death of his son.
K24 TV reported that Alex Mangi Yaa is in the process of looking for a lawyer who will help him put together a case against the radio presenter.
He further disclosed that ever since the accident occurred, Mwala has never reached out to his family.
“We are now looking for a lawyer to represent us in court. Sadly, Mwala is yet to communicate with us despite killing our son, who has left behind a young wife and a child,” he stated.
On August 27, the celebrated entertainer allegedly hit and killed the pedestrian, Ishmael Yaa, in Kaloleni, Kilifi County.
Kilifi Police Commander, Patrick Okeri, while confirming the incident at the time, stated that the media personality knocked down the 32-year-old man, killing him on the spot.
Mwala is said to have been under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred at 10.30pm on Monday.
Police records of the incident indicate that the actor was trying to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle when he swerved and hit the pedestrian.
He was arrested shortly after the incident and taken to Rabai Police Station, where he spent the night before being released on Tuesday, on a Ksh 40,000 cash bail.
He will be arraigned in court on Friday, August 30.
