ODM Cracks Whip on Raila's Aide

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has cracked the whip on a top aide of the party leader, Raila Odinga

Wafule Buke, who served as Director of for Political Affairs and Strategy, took to social media on Friday, August 30, to announce how he was thrown out of the party.

"Friends and enemies, I was sacked yesterday as Director for Political Affairs and Strategy of ODM. Edwin Sifuna (Secretary-General) since you can't pick my calls, I hereby confirm receiving your letter.

"I ruffled snakes and have received my feedback. I disagree with you so I will see what to do about that. I just lost income but the struggle for a better ODM is for us all. The funeral for losing a job continues. No burial arrangements," Buke lamented on his Facebook page.

He, however, did not delve into details of how he ruffled feathers with ODM officials, possibly in fear of burning his bridges.

"I cannot lie about being sacked. All I want is that ODM looks into the matter, but I will not disclose what happened because I respect the party and it would be unfair to them.

"Despite not being part of the party, I still hold them in high regards," Buke told Kenyans.co.ke on phone.

Sifuna played coy with the matter, distancing himself from the allegations.

"I do not react to issues posted on Facebook. Talk to the guy himself and let the party focus on other matters," Sifuna responded dismissingly when reached out to comment on the matter.

The party is preparing for party nominations for the Kibra by-elections which were postponed over lack of security personnel.

ODM announced their decision to change the dates through social media on Wednesday, August 28. The nominations which were scheduled for Saturday, August 31, were pushed to September 7.
