Ezekiel Mutua's Joke About Marriage That Cracked Up Lilian Muli

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, has made a name for himself as the moral cop in the country.

On August 27, 2019, Mutua barred Diamond Platnumz's popular Tetema song and Wamlambez by the Sailors Gang from being played outside nightclubs and bars.

Away from his job, Mutua, during an interview with Citizen TV's Lilian Muli on Friday evening, talked about marriage.

"I slay when I'm not too serious. I can be a very serious husband. There's someone who believes," he noted.

Mutua told the news anchor that while growing up, he had always wanted to marry a girl from the Kikuyu tribe.

“I told my mum I was going to look for a Kikuyu girl because their place rained so much and did not have famine issues like we used to," he told the anchor leaving her in stitches.

He went ahead and narrated that he always believed that marrying a girl from the Kamba community would condemn him to poverty.

Mutua also talked about his job, noting that he was traumatized when the media started calling him a moral police, but later made peace with it.

"I have no reputation to protect; I am here, not to be popular, but to do what is right! It will entail being called names, and threats on sacking…I have gone through hell and high waters," he remarked.
