A Jubilee party Member of County Assembly (MCA) was, on Sunday morning, involved in a road accident in Othaya, in Nyeri County.
The accident happened at the break of dawn at around 2 am.
The Konyu MCA, Eric Mwangi Wamumbi is reported to have survived the crash without any major injuries.
In photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Wamumbi's vehicle was severely damaged.
According to the MCA's driver, Timothy Githui Maina, who exclusively spoke to Kenyans.co.ke, the lawmaker was travelling from Othaya to Nyeri survived the crash and was currently at home.
He, however, was not travelling with the MCA at the time of the accident.
"My boss is fine, I actually visited him today at his home and he is in good health, unharmed," disclosed Maina.
In a separate event, six people, on Saturday, lost their lives when a matatu and a canter lorry collided head-on along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The accident which occurred at Nyakairu along the Kinungi stretch left ten other passengers with serious injuries.
Confirming the incident, Naivasha Deputy OCPD John Kwasa stated that four died on the spot while the other succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Kwasa stated that the bodies have been transferred to the Naivasha District Hospital mortuary while the injured had been rushed to Naivasha sub-county hospital for emergency treatment.
Witnesses at the scene told journalists that the matatu was attempting to overtake a convoy of vehicles when it collided with the lorry.
"The matatu driver headed towards Nairobi swerved to the right, crashing into a lorry coming from the opposite direction," a witness, Peter Kariuki, was quoted by the Nation.
Kinungi is a known black spot. Earlier in June, a bus veered off the road killing one and injuring 48 others on Saturday night.
A woman died on the spot, with rescuers taking more than three hours to retrieve her body from the bus belonging to Mbukinya company.
