Drunk Police Boss Shot Dead by Colleagues

A senior police officer was shot dead by his colleagues in the wee hours of Thursday morning on September 5, 2019.

The officer, Benson Indeche, was gunned down in Riruta, Nairobi, by other law enforcers responding to a distress call from residents.

Reports by Nairobi News disclosed that the deceased officer was the Deputy OCS of Riruta Police Station.

Indeche is reported to have been drunk and suspected to be armed when he harassed Boda Boda operators, whom he threatened to shoot.

On of the operators thus alerted police officers on patrol, who rushed to the scene.

They ordered the OCS to surrender which he (Indeche) declined and instead, opened fire, injuring one of them.

The officers from Muthangari Police Station shot back, killing him instantly.

A report by authorities indicated that “The officers shot at him and on examination, it was found out that he was a police officer."

"He was armed with a Ceska pistol and had fired seven rounds of ammunition,” read the report.

The injured officer is reported to be receiving treatment at Nairobi Women’s Adams Arcade Hospital.
