Uhuru Moves 8 Principal Secretaries in Gov't Changes

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, September 6 made several changes in his administration targeting permanent secretaries. 

In a press statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the president reshuffled 8 principal secretaries and merged two state departments. 

"In order to enhance efficiency and service delivery, has made the following changes in Government affecting Principal Secretaries," the statement read in part.

Below are the changes:

Maj. Gen (Rtd) Gordon Kihalangwa has been transferred from the State Department for Defence to the State Department for Public Works.

Betty Maina moved from the State Department for Industrialization to the State Department for Environment and Forestry.

Transferred from State Department for Public Service to the State Department for Industrialization is Dr Francis Owino.

Julius Korir has been moved from the State Department for Infrastructure to the State Department for Public Service.

 

Also transferred is Professor Dr Fred K Segor from State Department for Irrigation to the State Department for Wildlife Services.

Transferred Dr Ibrahim Mohamed from the State Department for Environment and Forestry to State Department for Defence.

Uhuru then transferred Professor Paul Maringa from State Department for Public Works to State Department for Infrastructure.

The president also Merged the State Department Crop Development with the State Department for Agricultural Research to create the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.

Finally, Professor Hamadi Boga has been transferred from the State Department of Agricultural Research to State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.
