EXCLUSIVE: How Ndindi Nyoro Sneaked Out of Citizen TV Evading Arrest

Police, on the night of Sunday, September 8, made impromptu headlines after tracking Kiharu member of the National Assembly, Ndindi Nyoro, down to Citizen TV offices to arrest him after an interview.

Catching wind of the motive, Nyoro, with the support of fellow lawmakers, however, stayed put until a half-hour to midnight when he sneaked out of the station.

A source from the station has whispered to Kenyans.co.ke that the legislator used a vehicle belonging to one of his colleagues to get out of the station without getting noticed.

Some of the legislators who rushed to the Kilimani-based broadcaster included Senate majority leader, Kipchumba Murkomen together with MPs, Alice Wahome and Kimani Ichungwa.

The source intimated that Nyoro had resorted to staying put at Citizen TV but it seems the police grew tired of waiting outside Royal Media Services gates and left.

Learning of their departure, the embattled lawmaker sought refuge in the vehicle of his colleague and sneaked out, successfully evading the arrest.

Possibly, the officers might have laid out an elaborate plan to pounce on the MP immediately he finished his interview at Inooro TV that was estimated to end at 9:30 p.m.

The detectives arrived outside the station's gate around that time but their plan was, however, seemingly fell apart when Nyoro declined to leave the station and even requested for a couch to sleep on.

The officers might have gotten fatigued and decided to depart sometime close to midnight.

Nyoro was being sought after a confrontation between him and nominated MP Maina Kamanda ensued during a church service earlier that day.

Nyoro and Kamanda clashed during a service at Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu causing chaos that disrupted the proceedings.

The lawmaker was later accused of assaulting a police officer who wanted to arrest him.
