Second Lady Rachel Ruto on Friday, September 13, 2019, held a meeting with popular musician Esther Akoth (Akothee).
Through a communique on her social media handles, Ruto’s wife expressed joy in having met the singer.
Akothee discussed her history and musical journey with Rachel who described it as one of a kind.
“It was really nice spending time with Esther Akoth (Akothee) today! What a beautiful story of determination and drive.
“We thank God for the work Akothee foundation is doing especially in Turkana! Esther has great tenacity and a beautiful spirit! We wish you all the best!” she posted.
"Thank you for the invite mama. When I finished presenting my Turkana Project to Mama Rachel, of building cultural centres, schools, dormitories for old people, a water project, hospitals, she added 'and a church in each and every centre'. This touched my heart deep mom!
"Thank you so much. Yes, a church mum, we all need God . So far I thank God for the support I have a received both from you, my fans and sponsors who have come on board so far on behalf of my Turkana people," Akothee posted oh her Facebook.
Kenyans who follow the esteemed second lady also followed, in showering praise on the musician.
“Akothee is a philanthropist... I love her spirit and selflessness. May God open so many doors for her,” Richard Ken Koroba commented.
Anthony Lwanga stated that they “both tackle human catastrophes from different angles for the Glory of God”.
“I wish you and could extend a hand towards me too, I've gone through a lot in my life but God has gotten me through every hard moment in my life,” Bilanoi Ezra opined.
