Police Phonecall That Threatened Ndindi Nyoro During Arrest [VIDEO]

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro, on Sunday, September 15, gave a gripping tale of a terrifying phone call that he overheard while in the hands of the police after his arrest.

Speaking at Igwe ACK church - just a few metres from Gitui Catholic Church, Nyoro went on to apologise for his part in the chaos that erupted at the catholic church on September 8, 2019.

"The Gitui Catholic Church incident was regrettable and on behalf of Mr Maina Kamanda and his team, I apologise to the Catholic Church," the lawmaker announced.

He then gave a detailed account of a call he overheard while being escorted after his arrest on September 9.

"My encounter with the police was unpleasant, I was escorted by a convoy of police vehicles and upon reaching Kenol in the middle of the night, the vehicles stopped. I could hear the police responding to calls saying 'yes sir', I feared for my life but I appreciate the people of Kiharu for their support and prayers," he disclosed.

There was heavy police presence during the church service following the previous weekend's chaotic scenes.

However, the vocal legislator vowed never to drag politics into the church, stating that he had learnt his lesson.

The Kiharu MP's statement came just a few days after Catholic Diocese of Murang’a Bishop James Maria Wainaina demanded official apologies from all those involved in the public scuffle at the Gitui Church.

He also cancelled all future political activities planned to take place in the Catholic church until further notice.
