Citizen TV Anchors Gang-up Against Uhuru's Man on Live TV

Citizen TV Anchors Joe Ageyo, Yvonne Okwara, Linus Kaikai, Jamila Mohamed and Francis Gachuri in their popular show 'News Gang' on Thursday, September 19, turned their wrath on Jubliee's nominated MP Maina Kamanda.

The anchors were displeased by the fact that he had declared his support for the ODM candidate in Kibra Imran Okoth even though his party had fielded a candidate in the same race.

Ageyo set the tone when he launched the attack on Kamanda noting that the MP was not respectful to his party in any way notwithstanding the fact that he was nominated to the National Assembly by the party.

"In my view, this is the height of political hypocrisy, it makes no sense in this era of multi-party democracy where we have political parties that mean nothing to people," Ageyo stated.

They further added that the Kamanda scenario happened barely after President Uhuru Kenyatta who is also the Jubilee Party leader endorsed McDonald Mariga as the party's candidate for the Kibra by-election.

Gachuri, an experienced political reporter claimed that it was the party's move to send Kamanda to the ODM offices at Capitol Hill.

He further claimed that several other Jubilee Party officials had attended the meeting with ODM leader Raila Odinga, with the former Starehe MP being just the face.

Despite this, Gachuri still read the Political Parties Act and took a dig at Kamada for promoting the ideologies of a different party and at Jubilee for not taking any action against him.

Gachuri also claimed that the woes that Mariga had experienced in his journey to vying for the Kibra seat were all internally orchestrated and that it was senior Jubilee officials were trying to frustrate him.

On Linus Kaikai's turn, he postulated that Uhuru was behind the party's woes since according to him, Uhuru did not care about Jubilee any more.

The show concluded by them taking a dig at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) over the decision to allow Mariga to contest for the Kibra seat foreseeing more cases in the future over the same issue.
