Jeff Koinange's Mother Warms Kenyans' Hearts [PHOTO]

Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange is a popular figure, but few Kenyans had seen his family until he shared a photo of them on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

Kenyans, who were quick to point out the resemblance between his mother, Mary Nyambura Koinange, and sisters, showered them with kind messages.

This is special for the news anchor and kin because their mother is celebrating her birthday and as such, they would all be attending Jeff's show dubbed Country Roads, for the first time since 2016.

"Folks...My mom and sisters will be attending Country Roads Festival for the first time since 2016 when we started the Festival!!” he posted on social media alongside the above photo.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the media personality disclosed that his mother turning 82 was special for him because it marked 53 years since she was widowed at only 28. Jeff is also 53 years.

"Dear Mama, as you turn 82 years old this week, here's wishing you a happy birthday and many more wonderful years ahead.

"Thanks for introducing all your children to country music more than 40 years ago and thanks for always being there for us and for never giving up. Love you much and God Bless you always!"

In his book, Through My African Eyes, the media personality stated that his mother was the only woman in the entire Kiambaa Village that owned a record player. "She pumped up the volume forcing the whole village to listen," Jeff wrote.

Her all-time favourite was Charley Pride who she described as " the black man from Sledge, Mississipi who sang like a white man".

In his own admission, growing up listening to that music obviously had an impact on Jeff.
