Military Grade Weapons Recovered After Dramatic Shootout

The DCI on Tuesday, October 1, announced the recovery of military-grade weapons from suspected terror operatives in Likoni Mombasa.

The recovery was after a shoot out that left 3 of the suspects dead as the sleuths also managed to arrest seven others.

"Three terror suspects also fatally injured in a shootout and seven arrests effected," DCI tweeted.

In the operation over 1,600 rounds of ammunition, a grenade, G3 rifle among other assorted weapons were confiscated.

The raid at Majengo Mapya in Likoni was led by a multi-agency team headed by the Anti-Terror Police Unit Detectives.

Other weapons that were recovered included 68 Air Rifle Pellets, 5KG of Ammonium Nitrate, Nine Balaclavas, Military/Police Uniforms and Military Holsters & Porches.

The detectives also announced the recovery of Rifle Oil, One GPS, Six Machetes, Three Knives and other assortments. 

DCI also revealed that they were interviewing those that were nabbed in the well-orchestrated raid.

This comes barely two days after the investigative body announced the manhunt of a Somali national who was said to be within the country.

They urged Kenyans to report the sight of one Abdiwaahid Khalif Abdi alias Ise Tarabuun believed to have arrived in Kenya on September 24.
