Citizen TV Forced to Apologise For Broadcast Blunder

Citizen TV had to apologise on Saturday, October 5, after its live stream broadcast on YouTube suffered a setback.

For the better part of the week beginning Monday, September 30, the stations' fans had been unable to access the digital live stream.

"Apologies for not being able to watch us on YouTube. We are working on resolving the issue," read a statement from the Royal Media Services-owned station.

As a fix Citizen TV directed fans of its popular shows to tuned through its website, news app and Viusasa app as well.

Kenyans had found the YouTube live stream important as it could be accessed with or without a TV set.

Fans could tune in wherever they were using their mobile devices.

The week has not ended well for Citizen TV as it also lost top talent Mohamed Hussein.

The celebrated news anchor announced his resignation on Friday, October 4, 2019.

"It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS.

"I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics & everything in between. See you soon," he posted on his Twitter page.
