NTV Replaces DJ Kris Darlin After Kibra Fiasco

NTV has replaced famed DJ Kris Darlin, real name Chris Odhiambo, from the hit show, Jamrock, after he expressed interest in the Kibra Parliamentary by-elections.

According to a report by Nation, the popular DJ will be replaced by his colleague Nicholas Mugo Mwangi, popularly known as DJ Moh Spice.

The publication further indicated that executives from the Kimathi Street-based TV station were considering a name change for the show to Jam Down.

Darlin had to exit because his interest in politics was reportedly contravening Nation Media Group's policy.

He vied on the Orange Democratic ticket but lost in the first round of primaries to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's brother Benard 'Imran' Okoth.

More changes are also in the pipeline of the reggaeton show which is set to air immediately after the 7 p.m. news on Saturday as opposed to its previous timing of 9 p.m.

The show will be airing until midnight.

“Following DJ Kriss Darlin exit, we’ve settled on DJ Moh Spice as his suitable replacement but in a new show called Jam Down Reggae Show which he will co-host with Miss Katiwa who has been amazing so far.

“We have also done some changes on the reggae show.  It will start airing after the 7 p.m. news all the way into midnight. It will also feature a reggae session on our newly launched Nation FM that will be beamed live as well," the outlet quoted a source.

Spice has had run-ins with the police especially when he was arrested in August for displaying a gun at K1 club during DJ Kym Nickdee's birthday party.
