Eliud Kipchoge's Sweet Message to Wife After Record

A few minutes after the greatest marathoner of all time, Eliud Kipchoge, successfully became the first human to run a 42-kilometre race in under 2 hours, he showered praise on his wife and children.

After a 1 hour 59 minutes and 40 seconds marathon, Kipchoge met his wife at the finishing line and embraced her tightly.

Speaking to a reporter at the venue, Kipchoge disclosed that his wife and three children had given him a lot of support.

"My wife and three children have given me a lot of support and I'm glad that they flew in to witness the history. I'm happy they came. They have also made history," he stated.

Further, Kipchoge expressed his joy after he won the marathon, encouraging more athletes to participate.

"It has taken 65 years for a human to make history in sports after Roger Bannister made history in 1954. It took another 63 years. I tried the marathon but I did not get, I'm the happiest man to run under two hours in order to inspire many people.

"I want to tell people that no human is limited, you can do it. I'm expecting more of athletes in the world to run under two hours after today.

He went ahead and assured Kenyans that everyone can go a mile further, think positively and do everything possible to achieve their milestones.

"Together, we can make this world a beautiful world and a visible one," he concluded.

He had earlier compared running the sub-two-hour marathon to going to the moon.

“I am running to make history, to show that no human is limited. It’s not about money, it’s about showing a generation of people that there are no limits,” Kipchoge remarked.
