CSs Matiang'i & Magoha Issue Stern Warning on Exam Cheating

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and his Education counterpart George Magoha presided over the preparation for the national exams held at the Kenya School of Government. The exams were set to kick off on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Matiang'i remitted that the government would do its part to ensure the successful examination period with zero irregularities.

"We will not do our part in a mediocre way. We will do our part as serious people.

"We are not going to allow our 'ngao' or our security people especially the senior ones to take leave", CS Matiang'i assured.

CS Magoha backed Matiang'i insisting that senior security officials would not take leave during this period unless excused by the president.

"There is nothing like delegating the key.  You will only be able to do so unless you are sick or asked by the president. Otherwise, we will hold you individually accountable." Magoha warned.

CS Magoha called out Migori county, Mandera, Wajir and Marsabit for constantly being culprits of examination irregularities.

"Don't tempt us! We will get you even if you have asked God to help you," the Education CS warned.

He made public that they had acquired a new aircraft to enable them to traverse the 47 counties with ease.

The examination papers would be transported in new metallic boxes and the keys handed to provincial commissioners. They would then be held accountable in case of any irregularity.

He pointed out teachers from Nyatike, Migori county for colluding with officials from Knec and the ministry of Education to cheat in national examinations in the past.

Knec officials urged CS Magoha to bar teachers accused of involvement in examination irregularities in the past from overseeing the process.
