Former Tetu MP James Ndung'u Gethenji and his older brother, Gitahi Gethenji, were embroiled in a fiery exchange at their Ksh20 billion property in Kitisuru.
A video shared by NTV on Tuesday, October 15, showed the sons of Joseph Augustine Gathenji, who was the director of personnel management (DPM) in Kenyatta's government and a permanent secretary in the Ministry of Labour in former President Moi's government, engaged in a bitter exchange.
In the middle of the family feud is Waridi Gardens Estate, a posh estate located in Kitusuru, with 55 housing units on a 37-acre plot, with each unit alleged to be worth Ksh400 million.
A visibly angry Gitahi was heard asking what his younger brother was doing at the Kitisuru Estate, with Ndung'u insisting that he owned the property.
The two went on to engage in a bitter exchange of words, with the younger brother - who is a top director of the companies identified as Kihingo Village Limited (Waridi Gardens) and Kihingo Village Management One Limited (KVWGML), insisting that he was the rightful owner, going on to order his brother out of the premises.
On October 9, 2019, the High Court gave Ndung'u the go-ahead to control the contentious Ksh20 billion estate.
The court ruled in favour of Ndung'u, who claimed that he had taken a Ksh800 million loan to develop the properties in contention.
Gitahi Gethenji was seeking to wrestle the control of the company from the former MP, who he accused of using his monopoly to mismanage the estate.
Here's a short clip shared by NTV of the two brothers during the tussle:
