Ruto Makes Bold Declaration After Skipping Uhuru's Event

Deputy President William Ruto made a shocking and bold declaration, moments after skipping President Uhuru Kenyatta's Standard Gauge Railway launch on Wednesday, October 16.

The Standard reported that Ruto addressed a crowd in his local Kalenjin dialect while heading to Kericho Golf Club to board a helicopter to Nairobi.

The DP had officially opened the annual conference for constitutional commissions and independent offices that commenced in Kericho on Wednesday, October 16.

According to Ruto, he has a clear path towards winning the 2022 presidential election. He outlined how he had calculated an exquisite plan awaiting execution, stating that he would clinch the victory by a landslide.

"Don't worry. Everything is on course. I have done all there is to be done. Things are good for me at the national level. It is upon you to have faith in me," Ruto asserted.

He also took a swipe at Orange Democratic Movement leader, Raila Odinga, and other opposition leaders, stating that their political prowess would soon face extinction.

"The Kalenjin community has not supported Odinga in the last two elections. I will send him home. First, I will ensure Jubilee clinches the Kibra parliamentary seat," Ruto declared.

On the other end, President Uhuru Kenyatta hit out at Ruto and other anti-handshake proponents, alleging that they were out to dupe and mislead Kenyans. Kenyatta was accompanied by  Nairobi GovernorMike Sonko, his Kajiado counterpart, Joseph Ole Lenku and Transport CS James Macharia.

"I watch vividly as politicians compete for political space. I warn you Kajiado residents not to be trapped in such agendas. For me, I have united Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and I am calling onto others to join the bandwagon.

"No one can lead this country alone. Even if they attack BBI, they should know that the project is not all about elections. It's not about creating a post for me. I will retire after my term is over. It's about the future of Kenyans," Kenyatta reiterated his stance on the initiative.
