Comedian and NACADA Director Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy, made a comeback to TV at a new station.

He hosted Chipukeezy Show that aired on Ebru TV but fell out with his employer on Monday, August 26, 2019 prompting the comedian to call it quits.

On Friday, October 18, digital strategist Dennis Itumbi took to Twitter to announce that Chipukeezy had taken his talent to TV47 which would host the new show.

In a phone call with Kenyans.co.ke, Clifford Ndubi, a news anchor at the station, confirmed that indeed Chipukeezy had found a new home.

"Chipukeezy is here to stay," the news anchor confirmed and ascertained that the comedian's contract with the Westlands-based media station appears to be long term.

The show will be recorded live at Kenya National Theatre every Monday from 6pm to 9pm and air every Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm.

Netizens congratulated the comedian for the move after the brief sabbatical.

"No human is limited to anything Chipukeezy. Someone thought that you can be caged but boom!here you shine again keep the fire burning," praised one Nashipai.

Before leaving Ebru TV, the comedian had posted, "I received an email from Ebru TV asking me to terminate my agreement and collaboration with Kartelo on my show. They say they are a bit concerned that the show has become a bit ghetto because of the many youths (up musicians and comedians) on the show."

"They requested that we try and change the format a little bit. Maybe interview more politicians and a few corporate executives," he added.

However, the NACADA director outlined that his passion was to uplift the youth in the country, especially the disadvantaged.
