Sonko Picks Fight With Govt Officials in Damning Exposé

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has exposed an apparent conspiracy to steal land from members of the public by the county and national government officials.

Taking to his social media pages, the governor gave an account of Avtar Singh Nadhra, a man whose land the governor believes was grabbed by Osman Gabow Ibrahim and Esther Wahito Kuria.

He narrated that the original title deed was issued to Nadhra in 1995  for lease starting 1st May 1995 for 99 Years.

"In an interesting turn of events, that same property LR No 12594 is purportedly issued a new title under Lands Act, 2012 IR. 205587 but under the same Deed Plan No. 196466 in the names of Osman Gabow Ibrahim and Esther Wahito Kuria on December 22, 2017, at 10.05 am," he wrote.

The governor further stated that the new title was issued under the Registration of Titles Act despite the act being repealed in 2012, noting that the property was then transferred to a group of companies by the name Abdis World Group.

"The next thing we see is a court order for the distress of rent dated July 24, 2019, identifying Avtar Singh as tenant and Abdis World Group as the landlord.

"The auctioneer for Abdis World Group is given leave to distress for rent amounting to Ksh550,000, there is no lease to show when, if any, this lease was signed as the man is and has been out of the country," Sonko continues.

The Nairobi County boss stated that  Abdis World Company was fixed on evicting Avtar from his land.

"It looks like a gimmick to evict Avtar from his own land but the order clearly states that it is not an eviction letter. The auctioneer of the Abdis World Group one Joseph Nderitu trading as Jonan Dries Auctioneers appears to have gone to effect the distress order against AVTAR on 4th October 2019 according to police booking receipt at Langata Police Station dated October 3, 2019."

He further narrated that the company contradicted itself in an application filed in the Environment and Land Court on October 11, 2019, by claiming that Avtar invaded their property on October 2, 2019, and started building a perimeter wall.

Sonko now advocates that a search of the property is conducted to confirm who the land belongs to.
