Itumbi Sharply Defends Raila in Rare Show of Support

State House's Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi on Sunday, October 27, left netizens scratching their heads after showing rare support for ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a Facebook post, Itumbi referred to Odinga as an OG (Original Gangster) which is a slang word that means someone who has a depth of knowledge or experience.

He was commenting on an article that was carried by Sunday Nation that explained why the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report was not ready.

Itumbi agreed with the former premier that BBI needed to go through amendments before it was adopted.

Speaking at the funeral of Ngumbao Jola who died a day before the By-election in Ganda Ward in Kilifi County, Odinga stated that BBI would give full consideration to the input of Kenyans.

He also cautioned politicians who were urging people to reject the report.

"Some people are already criticising the report before it's out. The task force is yet to hand the report but some people are already opposing it.

"Why are you against something that you don't know? Uhuru doesn't know the contents, neither do I. It's all rumours. I want you to relax. The report will be made public," the AU envoy stated.

The taskforce on BBI on Wednesday, October 23, revealed that the document was ready to be presented to Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta

In a statement to newsrooms, joint secretaries of the task force Martin Kimani and Paul Mwangi divulged that they had already communicated with State House.
