"As you sort out the challenges of the colonial government, it is unfortunate that your government is still creating more victims of historical land injustices," Sang threw a jab at President Uhuru.

The governor went ahead and criticised the head of state for the difficulties Mau forest evictees are facing.

"It does not make sense that today we ask you (President Uhuru) to compensate victims of historical land injustices courtesy of your own program yet, on the other hand, you proceed to create more victims of historical land injustices," Governor Sang added.

"What is going on in Mau today is the perpetuation of historical land injustices if you take back the land that people paid for," Sang added.

Sang also asked President Uhuru to speed up the compensation of victims who lost their land in the run-up to Kenya's independence.

"It is now three years down the line since you set up the 10 billion fund meant to address victims of historical land injustices. And to date, we are yet to see the sh 10 billion," Sang affirmed.

Governor Sang took an issue with the delay in compensation and stated that more people are dying before receiving their compensated.

According to Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya, the government planned to evict 10,000 families irregularly allocated some 17,101 acres of forest land.

Natembeya stated that more than 1,400 people demolished their houses while others are working to bring them down and collecting their valuables ahead of the October 31 deadline.
