A police officer was on Saturday, November 2, shot dead by his colleagues after he sprayed bullets on his father.
According to K24 Digital, Police Constable Kelvin Otovolia Mang’ong’o shot his father, killing him on the spot.
The publication reported that Otovolia's father had travelled to Chepkono area in West Pokot County from Kakamega, to visit his son at his attached station.
It is at this point that the incident took place.
His colleagues, on hearing about the incident, tried to arrest the rogue officer but he turned violent and tried to grab a gun from one of them.
His attempt prompted the officers to open fire on him, killing him on the spot.
In yet another similar incident that took place on September 2019, a senior police officer was shot dead by his colleagues.
The officer, Benson Indeche, was gunned down in Riruta, Nairobi, by other law enforcers responding to a distress call from residents.
Reports by Nairobi News disclosed that the deceased officer was the Deputy OCS of Riruta Police Station.
