Ex-Citizen TV Anchor Admits Struggle 1 Year After Quitting TV Job

Former Citizen TV anchor Joey Muthengi has finally admitted to struggling a year after abandoning her screen job.

Taking to social media on Monday, November 4, Muthengi disclosed that it was a tough decision she had to make at the time but placing her faith in God saw her through.

She further added that it was especially tough because she had no idea what her next move in her career would be, especially since she had no offers at the time.

"Hey November! Today marks one year since I left my last job. It was a very difficult decision and I had no idea where I was headed afterward.

"I won't lie, I've had some tough days yet God has guided me to the place I am now," she stated.

Muthengi, who anchored the morning show, 'Day Break' and the entertainment show '10 over 10' with Willis Raburu, however, added that she was doing much better a year later.

"Today I am happy, I am content and I know that I am loved. I'm so thankful for the people who have stuck by me and encouraged me along the way. God bless," she continued.

In March 2019, the softspoken media personality revealed that shortly after she quit the station her phone started blowing up with text messages from her acquaintances who were surprised by her move and would constantly check up on her.

"Look, it’s like when I left Citizen, and all these guys were sending me messages on Whatsapp, 'Oh, hey, how are you holding up?' or, 'Are you okay?'," Joey narrated at the time.

The reserved media personality wondered why people felt sorry for her yet leaving Citizen was her decision.

In June 2019, the former anchor landed a broadcast job at her previous employer, Capital FM, where she was "just happy I have a job where I have a seat now. I can actually sit down while doing my job and be comfortable and enjoy myself."
