Ex-President Mzee Daniel Moi was discharged from The Nairobi Hospital on Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Confirming the news, his Press Secretary Lee Njiru stated that, "The Moi family has expressed gratitude to all those who offered prayers and sent quick recovery."
The former head of state had been admitted to hospital on October 28.
According to Citizen Digital, Moi's medical team, led by his personal physician Dr. David Silverstein gave him "a clean bill of health."
Ever since his hospitalization, Njiru has had to dispell rumours on Moi's health.
Earlier in October, Njiru termed speculations over Moi's health as hogwash, noting that the retired statesman was still undergoing treatment.
“If what people are talking about happens, who can hide such a thing? Those are alarmists and malicious people peddling false rumours. Where do they get such rubbish? Who appointed them to be the family spokesmen?” Njiru questioned.
The family spokesperson further expressed the family's displeasure on the reports over his health.
He assured that the former president was alert, conscious and under the care of a medical team.
The details of his illness had not been disclosed.
