KCSE candidates at Musingu High School in Kakamega County on Saturday, November 9 woke up to a morning scare after one of their dormitories was razed down.
According to the Daily Nation, all the students were safe to continue with their exam.
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale took to Twitter to congratulate the Kakamega County fire brigade for what he termed a swift response that averted a potential disaster.
"Congratulations to the Kakamega Fire Brigade and students of Musingu High School for successfully containing the fire that broke out in Taifa/Madaraka dormitory today," Khalwale tweeted.
He was among the leaders who were first to visit the school to ensure that students were okay to continue with their exams despite losing property in the fire.
The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
This fire came barely two months after another dormitory in the same school was razed down on September 9, leaving over 350 students counting losses and with no place to sleep.
The cause of the September fire detected at around 8.30 a.m. was not immediately established but luckily no student was injured.
County Executive for Roads, Public Works and Energy Collins Matemba visited the school after learning of the incident.
After the September fire, the police launched an investigation on whether the fire had any connection to the incident where the candidates from the school had protested poor diet during the August holiday tuition.
They also invited Kenya Power officials to asses the situation and establish whether the fire could have been caused by an electric fault.
