Waihiga Mwaura Pins Down Guests During Heated Citizen TV Interview [VIDEO]

Two episodes since taking over the Newsnight show from revered Hussein Mohamed, it seems Citizen TV anchor Waihiga Mwaura has perfected the art that for a long time defined Tuesday nights interviews.

In the latest episode on Tuesday, November 12, the award-winning anchor pinned down his two guests, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei after they tried dodging questions.

The 20-minute interview began with Sifuna condemning violence until Mwaura asked him to respond to the chaos witnessed in Kibra during the November 7 mini poll.

"Was there any violence that took place in Kibra?" posed the anchor.

"First of all, we condemn any violence in this country," answered Sifuna before Waihiga interrupted demanding he narrows down on Kibra. The insistence went on for close to two minutes as the ODM boss played coy.

Turning to Cherargei, the no-nonsense journalist asked, "Why have the cases not been filed to the police?"

In his answer, the senator suggested that the victims would file reports after recovering.

Flabbergasted by the response, Waihiga asked the lawmaker to name the complainants whom he seemingly could not.

Later in the show, the focus turned towards Sifuna who had reportedly made some comments which Jubilee MPs claimed incited the violence in Kibra.

So intense was the interview, that the ODM secretary general dared police to arrest him if they thought his words were inciteful.
