Kenyan Radio Presenter Victorious in Continental Awards

Radio Jambo Presenter Daniel Githinji Mwangi alias Mbusii was on Monday, November 25 crowned Best African Act/On-Air (TV/Radio) Personality of the year 2019 in an event held at  Accra, Ghana.

The 2019 Africa 35.35 Awards celebrate the excellence of African youth and the Afro-diaspora featuring 35 young Africans aged between 18 to 35 with outstanding achievements in their communities.

"Mbusi na Lion is a Kenyan radio host, a national reference. His shows on Radio Jambo owe their great popularity in part because he speaks in "sheng", a local slang particularly popular with young Kenyans. His motivational messages do not go unnoticed," read a statement from the Awards' website.

Mbusii could not hide his joy as he took to social media to celebrate the award and his supporters.

"Thanks to the most high Jah, the trophy is ours Kenyans. Respect everyone for your prayers," his Instagram post read.

Kenyans and media personalities alike joined hands in congratulating the renowned radio presenter for his win.

Classic 105's Maina Kageni stated, "Massive respect to you Mbusii. Thank you for flying the Kenyan flag high all the way in Ghana!!! Enyewe (for sure), you and your co-host, Lion are among the craziest and most talented I have ever known."

Mbusii joined the long list of Kenyans who made a mark on the international stage in 2019, adding to great fetes by the likes of teacher Edwin Ademba who was crowned the best teacher in Africa in October 15.
