Missing KCPE Examiner Found Stranded After 2 Weeks

A KCPE examiner who had gone missing on Friday, November 8 was found.

According to Citizen Digital, Moses Odumbe was captured by CCTV cameras on Tuesday evening, November 26 sitting at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi.

One of Odumbe's relatives, Collins Odhiambo, told the publication that the examiner had been found alive.

He went on to reveal that the teacher was traced after a tip-off that he had been spending the night at an unidentified location.

Odumbe had been reported missing on Friday, November 8 by his family, when he went to mark KCPE examinations.

The 49-year-old, who is a teacher at Kogana Primary School in Rachuonyo, left his rural home at 5:30 pm and headed to St.Georges Girls Secondary School in Nairobi, the making centre.

He was supposed to return after the exercise, but this was never to be.

“We went to his nephew’s house in Kikuyu where he rested for some time before leaving for the examination marking centre,” Joyce Odumbe, his wife had earlier stated.

The family's panic escalated on Monday, November 18, after Education CS George Magoha released the KCPE results and the family was forced to travel to Nairobi in search of him.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) offices responded that Odumbe did not participate in the exercise.

“KNEC officials told us that my husband checked into the exam marking centre, but he never marked any exam paper as he disappeared soon after,” Joyce added.

The 49-year-old teacher has been taken to Nairobi West Hospital for medical examination.
