Behind-The-Scenes of Citizen TV News Bulletin With Yvonne Okwara [VIDEO]

Ever wondered what goes on in the putting up of a live TV news bulletin?

Citizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara on Friday, November 29, gave a rare glimpse into the moments leading up to when she goes live to present the news.

In a video on her Instagram account, the journalist revealed that a lot of work goes into making the bulletin possible.

"It takes a whole village to put a show together," she admitted.

From the video, Okwara shows how together with her news director Monica Kiragu, they plan out the show.

The anchor is heard asking Monica whether they commence with the highlights which the news director states, "Start by introducing the guests, then you can go into the highlights."

Minutes to the broadcast, a make-up artist is seen giving Okwara's make-up a touch-up to ensure she looks crisp for the cameras.

As she gears-up for the News Gang segment, Jamila Mohamed walks into the studio and the two share a light moment before discussing matters of national interest.

She credited her team for piecing together the complex yet rewarding process of portraying the news.

"News directors, studio technical operators, cameramen, the team in the news gallery and then there's the news editor who puts all the content together, the reporters who go out and file stories, the drivers who get them safely to the field and back, video editors, hair and makeup artists.

"The list is by no means exhaustive. An anchor ties it all together. I'm glad they trust me to do that and to do it well," she stated.
