1 Habit Waiguru Wants Uhuru to Stop

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, on the night of Wednesday, December 11, asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop a habit she claimed was putting him in jeopardy.

While appearing on Tony Gachoka's Point Blank on KTN News, the eloquent county boss claimed that the president was so tolerant of his staff and that the trait was most likely to soil his reputation.

She resorted to the piece of advice after the show's host asked her what she thought about Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri's laments of coffee and tea farmer's woes despite him being in charge of the department tasked with solving the situation.

The governor slammed Kiunjuri of his rants and at one time accused him of openly defying his boss.

Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri also attended the Embu retreat held between Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30, 2019.

"In my view, I think the president is too tolerant and he needs to stop being a good person. He needs to stop it because it is only working against him.

"You cannot employ and assign a cabinet minister a task and then he [sic] goes and issues a press conference to the public on the same issue complaining. He is basically saying he is not able to do his job," stated Waiguru.

"The president is not weak, he is very tolerant but you know there is a place his tolerance and his goodness can start costing him his reputation. He needs to look at himself in the mirror and take very tough decisions and correct it," she continued.

She also poked holes on Kiunjuri's attendance of the meeting that was allegedly convened by DP William Ruto's allies in Embu on Saturday, November 30.

"Even focus on the issue of disrespect, I think it was very ill-advised. I know he really wants to advance himself as being the successor but that is not the way to do it," she added.

Kiunjuri and 29 members of the National Assembly and senators convened in Embu and demanded that a separate referendum for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) should not be pursued and if necessary, it should run alongside the 2022 general elections.

Other leaders who attended the retreat included Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirichi, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
