No-Nonsense Commissioner Parades Police Bosses in Tongue-lashing

To the residents of Embu County, Abdulahi Galgalo is slowly growing to be a man of his words, putting other local administrators to task on their roles in service delivery.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a correspondent shed light on Galgalo's growing influence, describing him as a no-nonsense county commissioner.

“He is a man who believes in results, especially in services offered to the public. In many instances he has been seen challenging other administrators on their undone roles,” remarked the reporter.

In a video by NTV, on December 12, of Jamhuri Day celebrations in Embu County, Galgalo paraded underperforming administrators in the area, warning them against laxity.

Among those who were first paraded included the area police commander, the sub-county administrators and other police chiefs.

“I and Governor Martin Wambora called you and gave orders on how you need to undertake your roles but you have failed to fulfill that. Those were direct orders.

“Do you want me to come help you do your work? Are you unable to conduct your roles? You have failed in working together,” ranted Galgalo.

The county commissioner pointed out an increased number of mushrooming bars in the area, giving an order on their closure.

He also called for the shut down of all bars located near churches and mosques.

“There is a specific bar that I ordered you to close, have you closed down the bar? I want all bars in the notorious Runyenjes area closed down in the next two weeks,” Galgalo spoke.

Stamping his authority in the county, Galgalo warned the security chiefs to brace for a tough time under his administration, adding that they must be ready to work for the people with utmost diligence.

“I have come to work in this county and anyone who feels uncomfortable working under me should be ready to leave Embu’s vicinity.

“I am working under the president and I will not allow being mentioned as the man who failed in the accomplishment of his legacy,” further ranted Galgalo.

Chiefs and district officers were also paraded and received a tongue lashing from the county commissioner.

“I am not trying to intimidate anyone but am just reminding you of your work. You all know that I am a visitor here helping you clean up your area.

"When the society is rotten you face it on your retirement. I want to instruct that you make sure every location is clean and speak out whenever you need my help,” Galgalo told them.

The commissioner also warned headteachers in the county against charging unnecessary fees to students, because it would affect the government’s plan for 100 per cent transition of students from primary to secondary schools.
