Kenyan Who Drove From Poland to Nairobi

Slawek Muturi is relatively unknown to many but the Polish - Kenyan business author has generally lived a very interesting life and done some extreme travelling.

Muturi has authored seven books on the topic of financial freedom and all that it entails, as explained during his interview with TV47 on Friday, December 20, 2019.

He has travelled across the world preaching the gospel, of financial freedom and had travelled to 83 countries by 2000, mostly in Europe and Africa and by 2019 he had doubled that to 190 countries.

"My first plane flight from Poland to Kenya came in 1969 when I was only four years old, and my first solo flight from Kenya to Germany was when I was only six. I often went on holidays to Kenya when I lived in Poland or to Poland when I lived in Kenya," Muturi narrated.

But out of all these journeys, the most outrageous was one he made in 1989 in the company of two college friends. They drove all the way from Poland to Nairobi.

"In 1989 we drove a Land Rover from Poland to Kenya with two Polish university friends," he revealed.

The distance between the capital of the two countries stands at a whopping 9,360.8 kilometres and in current road conditions would take one 145 hours to complete driving non-stop.

He claimed he wanted to visit the country and reminisce his childhood, having been brought up in Ngong, some 30km from Nairobi.

Muturi,54, was born in Łódź to a Polish mother and a Kenyan father.

The travel enthusiast revealed that he can speak 12 languages among them Polish, English, Swahili and Kikuyu.
