Intimate photos of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife Margaret surfaced online on Friday, December 20, of a party at State House which was held the previous day.
The duo held a lavish party at their residence and invited children from numerous homes who they surprised with gifts.
The president and the first lady interacted extensively and took questions from the children on a number of subjects touching on their welfare.
There were numerous photos from the event but those that stood out were of Uhuru and Margaret seemingly in a loving embrace while looking at fireworks in the night sky.
As the event progressed into the night, the president, according to the photos, was seen getting onto the stage and seemed to have fun as much as the children did.
Margaret also joined the performance on stage and danced the night away before cutting a cake that had been inscribed 'Merry Christmas and Happy 2020.
The youngsters composed of those from various children's homes around the country as well as offsprings of State House staff members.
During the party at State House, Nairobi, the children were treated to live music entertainment, motorsports, skating, arts and other fun games.
The children also had a rare opportunity to view the cars that are part of the presidential motorcade, including the one which founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta used to ride in.
The usually guarded president was seen openly mingling with the children who will live to remember the day.
