Needy KCPE Girl Camps at Police Station for 3 Days

A needy 2019 KCPE candidate is finally set to pursue her dreams after camping at a police station for three days.

According to a report by KTN News, Naomi Kwamboka, 13, could not raise the requisite school fees and resort to appealing to well-wishers while at Central Police Station in Nakuru.

She had been called to AIC Morop Girls High School after scoring 335 marks but due to her humble background, she could not afford admission fees.

Her determination finally paid off on Saturday, January 18, when a well-wisher came to her rescue and offered to settle her fees.

Speaking to the press while at the station, Kwamboka thanked the well-wisher and vowed to work hard so that she could be able to help other needy students in the future.

"I thank all of you for what you did today, there are those who were headed to church but did not get there because of my problem.

"I promise to work hard in my studies so that I can help other needy students like me in the future," stated the girl.

Her good samaritan, Florence Arama, who was also present at the briefing, disclosed that she was heartbroken after Kwamboka got turned away from her dream school due to her predicament.

"Naomi Kwamboka is a student supposed to have joined form one but she was turned away when she reported at the school.

"We have talked to the school's administration and they accepted that we should take her to school on Monday," stated Arama.

Kwamboka is one among scores of pupils silently struggling with poverty despite the government's promise of 100% transition from primary school.

Another student, George Ingatwa, got help from two members of the National Assembly, Matungu MP Justus Murunga and his Westlands counterpart Tim Wanyonyi, after walking for 57km to report to secondary school.

He walked from his home in Nandi County in order to report to his new school, Kakamega High School, where he was admitted after scoring 390 marks.
