King Kaka's Wife Emotionally Narrates Her Worst Childhood Ordeal

Carter Ninifelly Owiti, the wife to celebrated rapper Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka, narrated one of her worst childhood ordeals that she used as an inspiration for her success.

On Wednesday, February 5, Owiti (Nana) posted a timeless photo of herself with her grandfather on Instagram and disclosed that they used to sleep on leaves as they had no bedding.

"Walking down memory lane. When I look at this picture, I am overwhelmed with emotion. It reminds me of a time in my life when I was a miserable little human, a dishevelled young girl with little hopes of making it in life. But weirdly most of the times so happy inside.

"As I grew up, I spent a lot of time with my grandfather, who was such a kind and generous man. This picture reminds me of how fast I ran home at the sound of thunder. Thunder meant rain and if it rained before we plucked enough leaves from the trees to use as a mattress, then it meant we'd have no place to sleep.

"I would get lost in a world of thoughts, wondering if we would ever break away from this cycle of poverty and become successful people one day," Owiti recalled, adding that sometimes, they would sleep hungry.

She further detailed how hard her school life was as she had one oversize school uniform which would be washed by her aunt mid-week. Her sweater was patched up with rags of different colours after it became worn out.

What hurt her most was that she did not own a pair of shoes with her legs bearing the brunt of the long journey to school barefoot under sweltering heat.

"I had no shoes. I remember now, how desperately I wanted shoes, because of how the terrain had badly ravaged the soles of my feet. Thankfully I had no cracked heels like most of those women in the village.

"The journey from school was so gruelling because the ground was intensely hot due to the heat from the blazing sun. It made me an athlete by default, running back home every evening to escape the effects of the sun. I would run so fast under the few surviving trees, rest my feet a bit because the soil was on fire," she remembered.

The harshness of life taught her to be patient and to strive towards a better future, which she indeed has achieved. In January 2020, she started hosting Chat Spot on Switch TV.

"All those bitter-sweet memories remind me of who I am, where I have come from. I look just the same and I will always be true to who I am. I am motivated when I look at this girl, with her sad face and oversize clothes and I remember where she has been.

"Whenever I doubt myself, whenever I want to give up, I look at this picture and I realise difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations," she added.

Owiti further expressed her profoundly love for her late grandfather.
