President Kagame's Security Detail Manhandled Before Ruto [VIDEO]

Rwandan President Paul Kagame's arrival at the Nyayo Stadium to attend the national prayer service for the late former President Daniel Moi was marked with chaos.

A video posted by the Daily Nation on Tuesday, February 11, shows what appears to be a commotion moments after Kagame alights from his vehicle at 9.59 a.m.

Moments after being received by Deputy President William Ruto and other dignitaries including Tourism CS Najib Balala and PS Macharia Kamau, Kagame made his way to the stadium, but his security detail found it rough.

The hawk-eyed security detail barred them from accessing the premises in an unexplained protocol hitch with DP Ruto looking on in the background.

Also caught up in the melee was ICT CS Joe Mucheru who attempts to make his way into the venue after Kagame had walked in but is shoved away by a security guard at the entrance.

Kagame is amongst some of the African leaders who have jetted into the country to mourn former President Daniel Moi who passed on on February 4, 2020.

Earlier on, DP Ruto had received the Ethiopian delegation and all other dignitaries that arrived at the prayer service.

Among the guests at the event are Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Nigerian Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Former Tanzanian Presidents Jakaya Kikwete and Benjamin Mkapa.

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and dignitaries from Ethiopia, Malawi, Ireland, and the UK are also in attendance.

Moi will be laid to rest in his Kabarak home in a private ceremony on February 12.
